So we moved from a desert to the NW. The weather is completely different than what we’re used to. Other than one hot week we’ve had incredibly pleasant weather here. Well at least the Geek and I have found it pleasant.
On Friday it starts to rain and it hasn’t let up since. It has been windy and that makes it a bit chilly, but we love it. We’re fortunate that we aren’t in SE Portland they had wind and rain that knocked out power and downed trees. We have some wind and rain but that’s it.
I keep having people tell me that in six months I’m going to hate the rain, but I just don’t see it. I moved from an area that gets rain for a month to two months and it’s considered the monsoon season there. It rains briefly and then we wait and it does it the next day. This weather is such a change from that. The city we moved from did recently have areas that flooded and I had a co-worker who also recently moved and was renting her house out got a call from her tenant that the backyard wall was missing a chunk of the rock wall. It flooded and the wall sunk and then crumbled. That’s the first we’ve ever heard or seen that happen there. We are so happy to be in Oregon.
Our plans are to hit the coast soon and the Tillamook cheese factory. There are so many things to do and see here. So we will gladly take the rain and anything else the weather gives us. At least for now :o)
